작가 노트
최근에 제작된 작품은 1996년부터 지금 까지 의 작업 개념인 “모든 것은 연결이 되어있다” 는 개념 하에 제작되어진 작품이다. 초기 작품은 나무 판 위에 그림을 그리고 그림 그려진 나무 판을 뒤집어 아무것도 없는 텅 빈 화면에 무의식적인 선을 빼곡이 긋는다. 어떤 목적을 두지 않는 선들로 화면을 가득 채우고 그 선들이 빼곡한 화면을 한참 바라보고 있으면 선들이 교차하면서 내 머리 속에 인식되어있는 형상들이 나오기 시작한다. 만약에 코끼리 형상이 보였고 그것을 오려내어 다시 뒤집으면 먼저 그려져 있던 이미지는 코끼리 이미지가 된다. 이렇게 작업을 하여 만들어진 이미지 작업을 중첩 시켜 다시 새로운 이야기를 만드는 형식으로 작업으로 진행하였다. 중기 작품은 초기 작업 개념을 평면에 적용을 시킨 작업을 하였다. 캔버스 위에 실을 뿌리고 그 실이 교차되면서 우연적이지만 내 머릿속에 인식되어져 있는 형상을 발견하여 이야기를 만들어 나가는 작업 개념으로 작품을 제작하였다. 여기서 캔버스를 눕혀놓고 실을 공중에 뿌리는 이유는 자유로운 선을 나타내기 위해서 이고 만약 내가 손으로 선을 그으면 나의 육체적인 한계와 고정된 정신이 자유로운 선을 나타내는데 방해가 될 것으로 생각하여 실을 뿌리게 되었다. 현재 작품은 캔버스에 실을 뿌려서 그 선들이 교차되면서 나오는 형상으로 이야기하는 것이 아니라 나 자신의 우주의 신호를 받아 선을 나타내는 것, 즉 내 몸이 우주의 신호를 나타내는 도구 다 라는 개념으로 작업을 하고 있다.
Artist statment
The most recent work was produced under the concept of "everything is connected," a work concept from 1996 to now. The early works draw pictures on wooden boards and flip the painted wooden boards to draw unconscious lines on an empty screen with nothing. When I fill the screen with lines that do not have any purpose and look at the screen that is filled with them for a long time, the lines intersect and the recognized figures begin to appear in my head. If you see the shape of an elephant and cut it out and flip it over again, the image that was drawn first becomes the image of an elephant. The work was carried out in the form of overlapping the created image work to create a new story again. The mid-term work involved applying the initial work concept to the plane. I sprayed thread on the canvas and accidentally found a figure recognized in my head as the thread crossed, and produced the work with the concept of creating a story. The reason why I put the canvas on the floor and spread the thread in the air is to show free lines, and if I draw the line with my hands, I thought that my physical limitations and fixed mind would interfere with the free lines, so I sprayed the yarn. Currently, the work is not talking about the shape of the lines crossing by spraying threads on canvas, but rather about receiving my own universe's signals to represent the lines, or my body is a tool to represent the signals of the universe.
